A Knitting App

There are some really cool knitting apps out there. I use one that helps me keep counts on rows and different parts of a project. For me that's great when I let it "rest" for a while and have no idea where I was. I have always looked at the idea of an App as a tool for knitting. But Donna Druchunas has created a knitting App with the help of Knit Companion's Sally Holt that is more of a highly interactive book. I have been wanting to do something like this for a while online. However, using Sally's platform to create an application for the iPad is pretty terrific. At Madrona I talked to a lot of people that were already using Knit Companion and couldn't stop raving about it. Where have I been? It is a great tool to use while following a pattern. Donna's app plugs her book right into the features of Knit Companion. And as a book you go so much further into Donna's inspiration and travels to Lithuania. It's a travel and educational guide as well. While I was looking at the app on iTunes I found that Lucy Neatby and Cooperative Press have also put out apps using Knit Companion as a platform. There is some really creative stuff going on right now! I was already thinking about an idea, but hmmmm......
